Politics of Valentine's Day

Just heard a commentary on NPR about how to ask the person you meet and might start to date "Red or blue?" Conservative or liberal. --Ever heard of just asking?-- Love should be above petty political differences.... Love should be able to conquer all things.

I don't know what delusion they (or the country) lives in that they think love should conquer such petty things, or that such things are even petty.
